Shipfolio was born from a personal need: too many ideas scattered across too many tools. The vision was simple—give prolific builders a single place where their projects, ideas, and progress could live together.

The Challenge

Builders who ship frequently face a unique problem. They have the SaaS that's making money, the side project they'll get back to someday, and the idea from last Tuesday that's still just a note somewhere. Context-switching between projects means losing momentum, and scattered tools mean losing track entirely.

What We Built

Shipfolio is a web application built with Laravel 12, Inertia.js v2, and React 19. The platform features a clean, minimal interface that lets builders see their entire portfolio at a glance.

Key features include:

• GitHub Integration — Connect repositories to see recent commits, releases, pull requests, and issues without leaving Shipfolio.
• Stripe Integration — Track MRR across all your projects in one dashboard. Revenue data stays current automatically.
• AI Companion — More than a notes app. The AI helps develop ideas by asking questions you haven't thought to ask and surfacing potential edge cases.
• Public Profiles — Build in public with a shipfolio.dev/@username profile that showcases your projects with live, verified data.
• Collaboration — Invite collaborators to projects for shared visibility and accountability.

Technical Highlights

The application leverages Laravel Cashier for subscription billing with Stripe, Laravel Pennant for feature flags, and Laravel Socialite for OAuth authentication. The frontend uses Tailwind CSS v4 with a custom design system and Framer Motion for subtle animations.

Real-time features are powered by polling and Inertia's deferred props, providing a responsive experience without the complexity of WebSockets for this use case.

The Result

Shipfolio launched with a freemium model—free for public projects, Pro ($11.99/mo) for privacy and advanced features. The platform serves builders who want their portfolio to maintain itself while they focus on what matters: building.
